Miami-OH vs Buffalo 1/10/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Buffalo Bulls and the Miami-OH RedHawks meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Millet Hall. Buffalo enters this one at 8-7 overall. The Bulls are fresh off a Saturday win versus Northern Illinois. As for Miami-OH, they’re currently 6-9 following a loss to Kent State. Buffalo won five of their first 10 games this year, beating Colgate, George Mason, Canisius, St. Bonaventure and St. John Fisher. The Bulls are 3-2 since then, beating SUNY Canton, Ohio and Northern Illinois along the way. 

On Saturday matched up against Northern Illinois, the Bulls were up 45-28 at the half. Buffalo cruised on another 35 points from there and won it 80-62. Curtis Jones was the leading team scorer on 19 points with five rebounds. 

Over on the Miami-OH side, they were 4-6 after 10 games with wins over Goshen, Little Rock, Jackson State and Calumet. The RedHawks are 2-3 in their last five outings with losses to Wright State, Central Michigan and Kent State. 

In the Kent State game on Saturday, the RedHawks trailed by one point going into the second half. Miami-OH was outscored 37-35 from there and lost it 69-66. Mekhi Lairy scored 17 points and Morgan Safford doubled on 15 points with 11 rebounds. 

PICK: I’m probably staying with Buffalo here. The Bulls made short work of a struggling NIU team in their last game and they’ve been playing quite well against comparable teams lately. Buffalo is 7-3 in their last 10 games, and they’ve scored 68 or more points in nine of those outings. As for Miami-OH, they didn’t play too badly against a good Kent State team in their last outing. The RedHawks can score pretty well when they’re in sync, so this one could end up a fairly high-scoring game. I still like Buffalo a little better cover-wise, though.
