Michigan vs Nebraska Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/8/23

The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Michigan Wolverines meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Crisler Center. Nebraska is 11-13 so far this year. The Cornhuskers beat Penn State in their last game on Sunday. As for Michigan, they’re sitting at 13-10 following a win over Ohio State in their last outing. Nebraska Cornhuskers 

Nebraska was a mixed bag over their first 16 games this year, emerging from that stretch with a 9-7 record. The Cornhuskers have won just two games since, falling otherwise to Illinois, Purdue, Penn State, Northwestern, Maryland and Illinois again. 

In the Penn State rematch on Sunday, Nebraska jumped out to a 37-28 halftime lead. The Cornhuskers kept the pace from there and won it 72-63. Keisei Tominaga was tops in scoring with 30 points and three rebounds. 

Michigan Wolverines

Over on the Michigan side, they were pretty sketchy to start out the year as well, going a similar 9-7 in that time. The Wolverines are 4-3 in the seven games since with losses to Maryland, Purdue and Penn State. 

Matched up against Ohio State on Sunday, the Wolverines were up 41-36 going into the second half. Michigan posted a 36-33 run the rest of the way for a 77-69 victory. Hunter Dickinson managed 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the team. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably stay with Michigan here. We should have a solid matchup in store regardless. The Wolverines did a pretty good job against Ohio State in their last outing, hitting 49.1 percent from the field with 34 rebounds and 11 team assists. Michigan has now won consecutive games with a combined 145 points between the two. As for Nebraska, they’d had a four-game losing streak prior to the win over Penn State on Sunday. The Cornhuskers have been at 65 points or fewer in six of their last seven, so I don’t think they’ll be able to keep pace if Michigan gets going in this one.
