The Vanderbilt Commodores and the Missouri Tigers meet in college basketball action from the MIzzou Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Vanderbilt Commodores will try to build on their third straight win after an 84-76 OT win over South Carolina last time out. Liam Robbins leads the Commodores in scoring and rebounding with 12.6 PPG and 5.9 RPG while Myles Stute has 11 PPG with 5.3 RPG and Tyrin Lawrence has 10.4 PPG with 3.3 RPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Vanderbilt up to this point in the season. Jordan Wright also has 9.8 PPG with 4.3 RPG and Exra Manjon’s dished out a team-high 3.1 APG up to this point in the season. As a team, Vanderbilt is averaging 70.9 PPG on 43.3% shooting from the field, 33.5% from three and 67.8% from the foul line this season.

The Missouri Tigers will try to rebound from a 74-68 loss to Arkansas in their last matchup. D’Moi Hodge leads the Tigers in scoring with 15.8 PPG along with 3.9 RPG and 2.1 APG while Kobe Brown has 15.3 PPG with a team-high 5.4 RPG to lead the Tigers on the glass. Noah Carter has 10.4 PPG and 4.7 RPG while Nick Honor and DeAndre Gholston each have 10+ PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Missouri up to this point in the year, with Honor  posting a team-high 3.7 APG as well on the year to lead Missouri in assists. As a team, Missouri is averaging 87.3 PPG on 50.7% shooting from the field, 36.9% from three and 74.4% from the foul line this season.

Vanderbilt is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record and 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games against a team with a home winning percentage above .600 while the over is 8-1 in their last 9 road games against a team with a winning home record. Missouri is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 home games.

I get the case to be made on either side in this game, but I’m backing the over here. Missouri’s been a scoring machine this season, especially at home, where they’re averaging up over 90 PPG, but they’re also giving up over 75 PPG and Vanderbilt’s more than capable of filling it up offensively. I’d suggest getting some popcorn and preparing yourself for a bit of a track meet here. Give me the over.
