North Carolina Central vs Coppin State Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/13/23

The Coppin State Eagles and the North Carolina Central Eagles meet Monday in college basketball action from McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium. Coppin State is 6-19 on the year so far. Coppin State Eagles 

Coppin State has struggled quite a bit this year, and they were a rough 6-12 at the 18-game mark. The Eagles are 0-7 since then with losses to NC Central, Morgan State, Norfolk State, Howard, MD Eastern Shore, Delaware State and South Carolina State. 

In the South Carolina State matchup on Saturday, Coppin State took a 41-37 deficit into the break. The Eagles were outscored 53-47 in the second half and lost 94-84. Sam Sessoms was the top team scorer on 24 points and four assists. 

North Carolina Central Eagles

Over on the NC Central side, they managed a 7-7 run through their first 14 games. The Eagles are 4-4 since then with wins over Coppin State, South Carolina State, Delaware State and Morgan State during that time. 

On Saturday versus Morgan State, NC Central was in control with a 42-31 halftime lead. The Eagles hit a 41-32 second-half advantage and won it 83-63. Justin Wright led the team on a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds.

I’ll probably stick with NC Central. Granted, there’s not a lot to get excited about here but it should still be a competitive matchup. NC Central is just 1-3 in their last four outings but they’re still scoring well with 67 or more points in three straight games. As for Coppin State, they took a 64-59 loss the last time these teams met up on January 9. Coppin State is going to have their hands full on the road in this rematch, so I like NC Central better cover-wise.
