Oakland vs Northern Kentucky Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/25/23

The Northern Kentucky Norse and the Oakland Golden Grizzlies meet Saturday in college basketball action from Athletics Center O’rena. Northern Kentucky is fresh off a Thursday game versus Detroit Mercy. In that one the Norse posted a three-point victory. As for Oakland, they played Wright State in their Thursday matchup. Northern Kentucky Norse 

Northern Kentucky posted a 14-8 run over their first 22 outings of the year. The Norse hit a sketchy 3-4 run in the next seven games with losses to Milwaukee, Youngstown State, Wright State and Cleveland State during that time. 

On Thursday versus Detroit Mercy, the Norse took a 37-23 edge into halftime. Northern Kentucky was outscored 41-30 from there but still held on for the 67-64 win. Marques Warrick was the leading scorer on 20 points and three rebounds. 

Oakland Golden Grizzlies 

Over on the Oakland side, they started out the season on a pretty rough 9-13 stretch. The Grizzlies managed to win three of the next seven games, taking losses otherwise to Robert Morris, Fort Wayne, Milwaukee and Detroit. 

Matched up against Wright State in the Thursday game, the Grizzlies overcame a 32-30 halftime deficit with a 45-36 second-half run on the way to a 75-68 victory. Jalen Moore was the top team scorer with 35 points and nine rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m leaning toward Oakland, but you could probably make a case either way. It should be a fun matchup. That said, Oakland has hit a 4-2 stretch over their last six, and they’ve scored 74 or more points in five of those six outings. As for Northern Kentucky, they’re 3-1 in the last four with more than 67 points in just one of those games. The Grizzlies won a tight 64-63 affair the last time these teams met back on January 6 at BB&T Arena. I think Oakland rings up another cover/win here.
