Pittsburgh vs Louisville Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/7/23

The Louisville Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Panthers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Petersen Events Center. Louisville enters this matchup at 3-20 overall. Louisville Cardinals

Louisville has had it pretty rough this year. The Cardinals didn’t get their first win until December 14, and shortly afterward they hit a 10-game losing streak. After a win over Georgia Tech, the Cardinals fell to Florida State on Saturday. 

In the Saturday game versus Florida State, the Cardinals trailed 45-36 by halftime. Louisville made a game of it in the second with a 42-36 run but ultimately lost 81-78. El Ellis was the top team scorer on 22 points and seven assists. 

Pittsburgh Panthers 

Over on the Pittsburgh side, they lost to West Virginia, Michigan, VCU, Vanderbilt and Clemson in their first 16 games. The Panthers have since gone 5-2 with wins over Georgia Tech, Louisville, Wake Forest, Miami FL and North Carolina. 

Matched up against the Tar Heels last Wednesday, the Panthers posted a slim 34-33 edge going into the second half. Pittsburgh kept the pace from there and won it 65-64. Nelly Cummings was tops on 21 points.

I’ll probably stay with Pittsburgh. The Panthers are coming off a nice road win over North Carolina back on Wednesday, shooting 45.5 percent from the field with 34 rebounds and six team assists. That makes three straight wins for Pittsburgh. The last time the Panthers saw Louisville, Pittsburgh managed a 75-54 win at KFC Yum! Center. The Panthers shot a nice 49.1 percent from the field in that one, and if they can replicate that offensive output in this one I think they’ll be okay on a cover.
