Rutgers vs Nebraska Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/14/23

The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights meet Tuesday in college basketball action from the RAC. Nebraska is sitting at 12-14 on the year so far. The Cornhuskers beat Wisconsin in their last matchup. As for Rutgers, they’re 16-9 overall and fresh off a loss to Illinois. Nebraska Cornhuskers 

Nebraska hit a .500 run to start the season, going 9-9 over their first 18 games. The Cornhuskers are just 3-5 since then however, losing to Penn State, Northwestern, Maryland, Illinois and Michigan in that time. 

On Saturday versus Wisconsin, Nebraska came back from a 35-24 first-half deficit to force overtime. After 12 points in the extra period the Cornhuskers won it 73-63. Keisei Tominaga was the top scorer on 22 points and two rebounds. 

Rutgers Scarlet Knights 

Over on the Rutgers side, they posted a pretty solid 13-5 run over their first 18 games. The Knights are just 3-4 since then however, losing to Michigan State, Iowa, Indiana and Illinois along the way. The wins came over Penn State, Minnesota and Michigan State. 

In the Saturday matchup versus Illinois, the Scarlet Knights were up 34-30 at the break. Rutgers was outscored 39-26 in the second half however, and lost 69-60. Clifford Omoruyi doubled up with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat.

I’ll probably stay with Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights have been a mixed bag lately, and they’re coming off a tough loss to a tricky Illinois team. Rutgers shot just 34.8 percent in that one and was out-rebounded 40-35. Nebraska won’t be a pushover, though; the Cornhuskers have scored 72 or more points in three straight games and they’re coming off a nice win over a pretty good Wisconsin team. I like Nebraska to make things interesting most of the way here, with Rutgers powering out a cover in the end. Should be a fun matchup to watch.
