South Carolina vs Auburn Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/21/23

The Auburn Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks meet Saturday in college basketball action from Colonial Life Arena. Auburn is currently 15-3 overall. The Tigers beat LSU in their last game. Auburn Tigers 

Auburn was 11-3 through their first 14 games, losing to Memphis, USC and Georgia. The Tigers have won four more since then, taking out Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and LSU in that quartet. 

On Wednesday versus LSU, the Tigers took a 32-21 edge into the break. Auburn posted a 35-28 run in the second half and won it 67-49. Jaylin Williams and Wendell Green each scored 14 points to lead the team. 

South Carolina Gamecocks 

Over on the South Carolina side, they were 7-7 through 14 games with wins over SC State, Clemson, USC Upstate, Georgetown, Presbyterian, Western Kentucky and Eastern Michigan. The Gamecocks are 1-3 since then with a lone win over Kentucky. 

Matched up against Ole Miss on Tuesday, South Carolina went into the second half with a 30-20 deficit. The Gamecocks were outscored 40-38 from there and lost 70-58. GG Jackson led the way on 15 points with seven rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m going to stick with Auburn. The Tigers didn’t have too much trouble with a good LSU team in their last outing, and they’ve now scored 67 or more points in four straight games (all wins). As for South Carolina, they’ve shown some flashes of greatness here and there this season but overall they’ve been a choppy team. The Gamecocks have scored 58 points or fewer in three of their last four games and I don’t see them getting too close to Auburn in this matchup.
