Stanford vs Washington Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/26/23

The Washington Huskies and the Stanford Cardinal meet Sunday in college basketball action from Maples Pavilion. Washington enters this one at 16-13 overall this year. The Huskies beat California in their last game. As for Stanford, they’re sitting at 11-17 overall after a Thursday loss to Washington State. Washington Huskies 

The Huskies came out of the gate on a 13-9 run across their first 22 games this year. Washington has since gone 3-4, falling to Arizona, UCLA, USC and Washington State before wins over Oregon, Oregon State and California. 

In the California matchup back on Thursday, the Huskies managed a 32-24 lead going into the second half. Washington kept it going with 33 more points from there in a 65-56 victory. Keion Brooks managed to double up with 24 points and 11 rebounds in the win. 

Stanford Cardinal

Over on the Stanford side, they hit an 8-12 run out of the gate this season. The Cardinal are just 3-5 in their last eight games, taking losses to Colorado, Arizona State, UCLA, USC and Washington State during that stretch. 

Matched up against Washington State on Thursday, the Cardinal were down 30-28 in the locker room. Stanford had a 37-35 deficit in the second half during a 67-63 loss. Brandon Angel was the leading team scorer with 17 points and six rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably stick with Washington in this one. The Huskies had a four-game losing streak going against some tough customers recently, but they’ve smoothed out with three straight wins against manageable teams and are looking better these days. The last time these teams played each other was back on January 12 at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. The Huskies didn’t have a ton of trouble in that one, winning 86-69 after a 47-29 first half. This rematch should be competitive but I still like Washington a little better cover-wise.
