The Drake Bulldogs and the UIC Flames meet in college basketball action from the Credit Union 1 Arena on Tuesday night.
The Drake Bulldogs will be out to build on an 82-64 win over Murray State last time out. Tucker DeVries leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 17.8 PPG along with 6.1 ts as the only double-digit scorer for Drake up to this point in the year. Roman Penn has 9.8 PPG with a team-high 4.3 APG to lead Drake in assists while Darnell Brodie also has a team-high 7.7 RPG as well for the Bulldogs this season. As a team, Drake is averaging 72.5 PPG on 45.1% shooting from the field, 34.7% from three and 76.3% from the foul line this season.
The UIC Flames will try to snap a three-game losing skid after an 80-60 road loss to Indiana State last time out. Jace Carter leads UIC in scoring with 15.2 PPG along with 6 RPG while Trevante Anderson has 11.1 PPG with 3.2 RPG and a team-high 3.7 APG to lead the Flames in assists. Toby Okani has 12.2 PPG with a team-high 7.4 RPG to lead the Flames in rebounding and to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for UIC so far this season. As a team, UIC is averaging 68.7 PPG on 41.1% shooting from the field, 31.8% from three and 66.3% from the foul line this season.
Drake is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games against a team with a winning home record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. UIC is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Tuesday games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 6-1 in their last 6 games following a loss.
I get the case to be made for Drake being favored here, but I’d be willing to consider this number if they were at home. Drake’s been brutal on the road this season and a shell of the team that was a covering machine for us in past seasons. UIC isn’t a world-beater, but they’re catching a decent number at home and we’re getting those points to fade a Drake team that’s winless SU/ATS on the road. I’ll take my shot with UIC and the points here.
