The Bryant Bulldogs and the Vermont Catamounts meet Thursday in college basketball action from Patrick Gym. Bryant is 10-4 so far this year. The Bulldogs beat Binghamton in their last game. As for Vermont, they’re 7-8 overall after a win over UMBC on Sunday. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Bryant managed to go 6-3 to start out the year, losing to FAU, Brown and Cincinnati in that time. The Bulldogs are 4-1 since then with wins over Stony Brook, Manhattan, Towson and Binghamton in that time.

On Saturday versus Binghamton, the Bulldogs trailed 41-40 going into the second half. Bryant posted 42 points from there and got the comeback victory 82-78. Sherif Kenney was tops on the team with 29 points and six rebounds.

Over on the Vermont side, they were 3-7 after 10 games with wins over Brown, Ball State and Lyndon State. Vermont is 4-1 in their last five with wins over Merrimack, Dartmouth, Colgate and UMBC.

Matched up against UMBC on Sunday, Vermont was up 36-31 by halftime. The Catamounts hit a 38-30 run in the second half and took the win 74-61. Dylan Penn was tops on the team with 19 points and nine rebounds.

PICK: I’m going to try Vermont in this one. The Catamounts have been much improved lately. They’re 5-1 over their last six games with 66 or more points in each of those outings. Vermont has a few scoring duds on their card so far this year, but if they get off to a good start in this one I think they can keep up with Bryant. The Bulldogs have failed to hit 70 points in two of the last three games and played it very close versus Binghamton.
