Wake Forest vs Clemson Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/17/23

The Clemson Tigers and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons meet Tuesday in college basketball action from LJVM Coliseum. Clemson is currently 15-3 overall. The Tigers beat Duke in their last game. Clemson Tigers 

Clemson managed a 9-3 run over their first 12 games, falling to South Carolina, Iowa and Loyola IL along the way. The Tigers kept it going with wins over Georgia Tech, NC State, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Louisville and Duke in their last six games. 

On Saturday versus Duke, Clemson was down 34-30 going into the second half. The Tigers surged on a 42-30 run from there and won it 72-64. PJ Hall led the team with 26 points and four rebounds. 

Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Over on the Wake Forest side, they were 8-4 through 12 games with losses to LMU, Clemson, LSU and Rutgers. The Deacons are 5-1 in their last six games with wins over Duke, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Florida State and Boston College. 

In the Saturday matchup versus Boston College, Wake Forest posted a 41-31 edge going into the second half. The Deacons hit a 44-32 run from there and took the win 85-63. Andrew Carr doubled up with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

I’m going to try Wake Forest in this one. We should have a pretty solid matchup here regardless, though. Wake Forest is on a great run over the last six games, with an 88-79 loss to North Carolina as the only blemish during that time. The Deacons have scored 77 or more points in all six of those games, but they’ve also given up 70 or more points in five of them. As for Clemson, they’re on a nice seven-game win streak themselves. The Tigers have hit 68 or more points in each of those games, so this one’s looking like a high total if both teams play well. Should be a fun one to watch.
