Washington vs Oregon State Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/18/23

Oregon State Beavers

The Beavers had a rough start to the season, going just 8-12 over their first 20 games. Oregon State hit a 2-4 stretch in the next six, losing to Utah, Arizona State, Arizona and UCLA with wins otherwise over Colorado and USC. 

In the Washington State matchup on Thursday, the Beavers trailed 44-30 by halftime. Oregon State was outscored 36-32 in the second and lost 80-62. Tyler Bilodeau was the leading scorer on the team with 18 points and five rebounds. 

Washington Huskies

Over on the Washington side, they were 12-8 through their first 20 games this year. The Huskies have since followed that up with a 2-5 run featuring losses to Utah, Arizona, UCLA, USC and Washington State with wins over Arizona State and Oregon otherwise. 

Matched up against Oregon on Wednesday, the Huskies scored 30 points in the first half, 34 in the second and eight in overtime to eke out a win 72-71. Keyon Menifield was the top team scorer on 27 points and seven assists.

I’ll probably take a stab on Washington here. The last time these teams saw each other was back on December 1, which seems to be a long time ago. Oregon State eked out a 66-65 win at Gill Coliseum in that one after jumping out to a 38-26 halftime lead. The Huskies finally cracked a four-game losing streak with their victory over Oregon on Wednesday, so if all goes well I think they’ll take some of that momentum into this matchup. Washington needs to get off to a good start here but I think they can power out the cover.
