The Fresno State Bulldogs and the Air Force Falcons meet Saturday in college basketball action from Clune Arena.
Fresno State enters this one at 8-7 so far. The Bulldogs are 1-1 in their last two games and coming off a win over Air Force on Thursday. As for the Falcons, they’re 4-15 this season. Air Force has dropped eight straight games including the Thursday loss. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Fresno State started out their year at 5-3 with wins over William Jessup, Fresno Pacific, Wyoming and San Jose State. The Bulldogs then lost three straight to Nevada and Boise State before picking up two wins over New Mexico and a loss to Utah State.
In Thursday’s 69-63 win over Air Force, Fresno State’s Junior Ballard led the way on 17 points with three rebounds in 28 minutes. Christian Gray was also in double-figures there with 11 points, five rebounds and one assist for the Bulldogs.
Over on the Air Force side, the wins have been few and far between. Since their last win over Wyoming on January 16, the Falcons have lost eight straight games to Wyoming, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV and Fresno State.
In Thursday’s loss, Air Force’s AJ Walker was the top scorer on 33 points with three assists and one rebound. Nikc Jackson added seven points with two rebounds in 20 minutes, and Carter Murphy chipped in five with one rebound.
The Falcons are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 Saturday games and 2-5 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss. Air Force is 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games after an ATS loss and the over is 11-5 in their last 16 overall.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. Fresno State is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS win and the under is 8-2 in their last 10 overall.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Fresno State. Air Force hasn’t been scoring well lately; they’ve been at 64 or below in every game of this losing streak. The Bulldogs shot 60.0 percent in the Thursday win and out-rebounded Air Force by a whopping 31-14 margin. Unless the Falcons really get their game cleaned up this should be a solid cover opportunity for Fresno State.
