The Texas State Bobcats and the Little Rock Trojans meet in college basketball action from the Jack Stephens Center on Thursday night.
The Texas State Bobcats will lok to build on a 72-68 win over Louisiana last time out. Caleb Asberry leads the Bobcats in scoring with 14.3 PPG with 4.9 RPG while Isiah Small has 11.2 PPG with a team-high 6.9 RPG to lead the Bobcats on the glass. Mason Harrell has 10.6 PPG with a team-high 2.6 APG to lead the Bobcats in assists and to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Texas State so far this season. Shelby Adams has 9.6 PPG as well this season. As a team, Texas State is averaging 73.9 PPG on 47.7% shooting from the field, 37.8% from three and 76% from the foul line while allowing 63.5 PPG on 42.3% shooting from the field and 34.2% from three this season.
The Little Rock Trojans will be looking to rebound after an 80-72 loss to Louisiana-Monroe in their last game. Isaiah Palermo leads the Trojans in scoring with 12.9 PPG with 4.8 RPG while Nikola Maric has 15.6 PPG with 6.3 RPG and 2.7 APG in 9 games this season. DeAntoni Gordon has 10.4 PPG while has 11.4 PPG as well ths season. Kevin Osawe has 6.8 PPG with 4.7 RPG. As a team, Little Rock is averaging 70.9 PPG on 43.2% shooting from the field, 30.8% from three and 73.1% from the foul line while allowing 72.6 PPG on 46.5% shooting from the field and 37.1% from three this season.

I get the case to be made for Texas State on the road here, but I haven’t really seen enough of Texas State that would warrant the Bobcats being favored on the road like this. This is Texas State’s first conference road game this season and while Little Rock hasn’t been stellar, they’ve played some tough competition this season and should be battle-tested to give the Bobcats a bit of a battle here. Give me Little Rock and the points.
