Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama got off to a pretty good start this year, going 14-2 over their first 16 outings. The Crimson Tide would then hit a 6-1 stretch with wins over LSU, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt again and LSU again.

On Wednesday versus Florida, the Tide cruised to a 52-23 halftime lead. Alabama scored another 45 points from there and won easily 97-69. Brandon Miller was tops in scoring with 24 points and nine rebounds.

Auburn Tigers

Over on the Auburn side, they got off to a pretty solid start themselves with a 13-3 run over their first 16 games. The Tigers are 4-4 in the last eight outings with wins over Mississippi State, LSU, South Carolina and Georgia in that time.

Back on Tuesday versus Texas A&M, Auburn trailed by one point at the break. The Tigers didn’t get any closer on a 46-42 second-half deficit and lost 83-78. Wendell Green scored 20 points and Johni Broome added 18 points with 10 rebounds.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I was going to take a stab on Auburn here, but the line’s a little too thin for that. You could make a case either way, though. It’ll be a fun matchup. The Tigers have faced some tough opponents lately with mixed results. That said, Auburn is still scoring well (even in this 1-4 stretch) with 77 or more points in three of the last four games. Coming back home for the first time since February 1 will certainly help as well. As for Alabama, they had zero issues with Florida in their last game, shooting a nice 49.3 percent from the field with 45 total rebounds. The Tide have scored 69 or more points in four straight games so it’ll take a big offensive push for Auburn to keep the pace.
