The Ole Miss Rebels and the Auburn Tigers meet in college basketball action from the Auburn Arena on Wednesday night.

The Ole Miss Rebels will try to build on an 85-68 win over Georgia in their last game. Jarkel Joiner leads the Rebels in scoring with 14.6 PPG while also adding 2.6 APG while Daeshun Ruffin has 12.6 PPG but is out for the rest of the season with an injury. Matthew Murrell has 11.2 PPG while Nysier Brooks has 9.8 PPG with a team-high 7.7 RPG to lead Ole Miss on the glass and Austin Crowley has 2.4 APG as well this season. As a team, Ole Miss is averaging 68.8 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field, 32.9% from three and 71.1% from the foul line while allowing 67.6 PPG on 44.6% shooting from the field and 31.6% from three this season.

The Auburn Tigers will try to bounce back after a 63-62 loss to Florida last time out. Jabari Smith leads the Tigers in scoring with 16.3 PPG along with 6.7 RPG while K.D. Johnson has 12.7 PPG and Wendell Green Jr. has 12.4 PPG with a team-high 5 APG to lead the Tigers in assists. Walker Kessler also has 12 PPG and a team-high 8.2 RPG to lead the Tigers on the glass and to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Auburn so far this season. As a team, Auburn is averaging 79.8 PPG on 44.8% shooting from the field, 32% from three and 73.5% from the foul line while allowing 67 PPG on 38.4% shooting from the field and 31.2% from three this season.

Ole Miss is 14-6 ATS in their last 20 Wednesday games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Auburn is 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 home games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games against a team with a road winning percentage below .400 while the over is 43-20-1 in their last 64 home games against a team with a losing road record.

I get why Auburn’s favored at home here but the problem is that Auburn’s had a bunch of issues in the favorite role as of late as they almost lost to Georgia and missed the cover against Vandy. It’ll also be interesting to see how Auburn handles the loss, as the last time they lost Auburn rebounded with a win and cover as a heavy favorite against Texas A&M. That said, Ole Miss has been inconsistent as well, but they’ve done a good job lately covering when getting double-digits, beating LSU and taking Florida to OT so I’ll take my chances with Ole Miss and the points here.
