The Alabama A&M Bulldogs and the Austin Peay Governors meet Wednesday in CIT college basketball action from F&M Bank Arena. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game. Here’s an Alabama A&M vs Austin Peay prediction. We will examine:

Alabama A&M Bulldogs Betting Preview

Alabama A&M started out on a pretty miserable run this year, going just 3-17 in their fist 20 games. To their credit, the Bulldogs finished strong on an 8-5 stretch. In their last five Alabama A&M is 3-2 with wins over Alabama State, Southern and Alcorn State alongside losses to Grambling and Texas Southern.

In the conference tournament matchup versus Texas Southern back on Friday, the Bulldogs went into the locker room with a 33-31 deficit. Alabama A&M was outscored 39-34 the rest of the way and eventually lost 72-65. Lorenzo Downey led the way on his 17 points with six boards.

Austin Peay Governors

Over on the Governors’ side, they also started out on a pretty sketchy run with a 10-13 record through 23 games. Austin Peay caught fire the rest of the way with a 9-2 stretch. After wins versus Eastern Kentucky, Bellarmine, North Florida and North Alabama, the Governors fell to Stetson.

In their Sunday matchup versus the Hatters, Austin Peay took a tough loss. The Governors were up 39-36 by halftime but were outscored 58-52 the rest of the way in a 94-91 result. Sai Witt was the leader on 28 points with 10 rebounds and a pair of steals in the losing effort.

Alabama A&M vs Austin Peay Prediction

I’ll go with Austin Peay here. The Governors nearly toppled a hot Stetson team in their last outing, despite giving up 52 percent from the field and 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from 3-point range. Austin Peay’s rebounding was good (34) and they shot 46.3 percent themselves. That makes 77 or more points in 11 straight games for the Governors.

As for Alabama A&M, they’ve been below 67 points in five of the last seven outings. The Bulldogs are capable of putting up some solid points totals when the matchup is right however, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them score well here. In the end I think Austin Peay powers out the cover, though.
