The TCU Horned Frogs and the Baylor Bears meet Saturday in college basketball action from Ferrell Center. TCU is 16-7 this year so far. The Frogs lost to Iowa State in their last game. As for Baylor, they’re sitting at 21-5 and coming off a loss to Texas Tech. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

TCU hit a 10-1 run through their first 11 games this year, then didn’t play from December 21 through January 8. The conference games have been a mixed bag for the Frogs. They’re 1-3 in their last four games with losses to Kansas State, Texas Tech and Iowa State.

In the Iowa State game, the Frogs had a two-point lead by the break. TCU couldn’t hang on in the second and ended up losing 54-51. Leading scorer Eddie Lampkin put up 16 points with nine rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes of work.

Over on the Baylor side, they hit a 15-0 run to start the season before losses to Texas Tech and OK State. The Bears are on a 6-3 run since then. The losses in that stretch have come to Alabama, Kansas and Texas Tech again.

In the rematch versus Texas Tech back on Wednesday, the Bears had a 39-32 lead by the break. Baylor was outscored 34-51 from there in a tough 83-73 loss. James Akinjo topped the Bears on 18 points, two rebounds and seven assists.

The Bears are 2-5 ATS in their last seven at home and 5-2 ATS in their last seven as a favorite. The over is 19-8 in Baylor’s last 27 at home.

Meanwhile, the Frogs are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 11-5-2 ATS in the last 18 overall. The over is 6-1 in TCU’s last seven overall.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Baylor. The Bears are coming off another frustrating loss to Texas Tech, but they’d produced a couple of good efforts in the two previous games with 155 combined points. The last time these teams met up back on January 8, the Bears pulled off a 76-64 road victory. Baylor has certainly been sketchy over the last half-dozen games but they should have plenty of firepower to pull off a cover here.
