North Carolina posted a 3-2 run over their first five games this year with losses to Purdue and Tennessee. The Tar Heels are 6-1 since then with wins over UNC Asheville, Michigan, Georgia Tech, Elon, Furman and Appalachian State.

Matched up against App State back on December 21, the Tar Heels posted 35 points in each half on the way to a 70-50 win. North Carolina’s Armando Bacot doubled up on 16 points and 10 rebounds, as did Brady Manek with 11 points and 11 boards.

Over on the Eagles’ side, their year started out at 3-3 with losses to Rhode Island, Utah and Rhode Island again. Boston College won their next three games, but have since lost to Saint Louis and Albany.

In the Albany matchup on December 13, the Eagles were outscored 35-26 in the first half. Boston College ultimately couldn’t come back in a 61-57 loss. Jaeden Zackery topped the tea on 15 points, four rebounds and four assists.

The Eagles are 1-4 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight as an underdog. The under is 4-1 in Boston College’s last five overall.

Meanwhile, the Tar Heels are 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 road games and 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 overall. The under is 6-1 in North Carolina’s last seven overall.

PICK: I’m going to stay with North Carolina. The Tar Heels really only have one bad game in their last seven outings, a 98-69 blowout loss to Kentucky. Otherwise North Carolina has been scoring pretty consistently with 70 or more points in 11 of their 12 outings. There should be plenty of scoring opportunities in this one as well.

As for Boston College, they’ve been at 68 points or fewer in three of their last four games and are really going to have to push to stay in this one. I don’t think the Eagles will make it into a cover.
