The Yale Bulldogs and the Brown Bears meet Monday in college basketball action from Pizzitola Sports Center. Yale is currently 7-8 on the year. The Bulldogs took out Cornell in their last game. Yale posted a 6-5 run over their first 11 games. The losses were to Seton Hall, Vermont, Southern Utah, Stony Brook and Auburn. Since then it’s been losses to Iona, Monmouth and Saint Mary’s sandwiched between wins over Albany and Cornell.

In the Cornell matchup, the Bulldogs posted a 44-33 advantage in the first half and kept it going on a 52-36 run from there in a 96-69 win. Isaiah Kelly led the team with 18 points and six rebounds. Jalen Gabbidon added 13 points in 19 minutes of work.

Over on the Brown side, they hit an 8-4 run to open the year. The defeats came courtesy of North Carolina, Creighton, Colorado and Bryant. It’s been a 1-6 stretch since with losses to Vermont, Syracuse, Maryland, Penn, Dartmouth and Princeton.

Matched up against Princeton on Saturday, the Bears had a slim lead heading into the break. The Bears fought hard in the second but came up short in a 76-74 loss. Kino Lilly was the leading contributor on 25 points, two rebounds and two assists.

The Bears are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Monday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. The over is 9-1 in Brown’s last 10 overall.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 2-6 ATS in the last eight overall. Yale is 0-7 ATS in their last seven after an ATS win.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Yale here. Probably staying away from this one, though; a lot of different things could happen. That said, the Bulldogs have shown some pretty good offensive capabilities here and there lately; they’ve hit 71 or more points in five of their last eight games. Brown has had a few good showings over their last four games or so themselves, but they’re also giving up a lot of points lately. I think Yale can eke through a cover and/or win in this one. Should be a fun watch.
