The Sacramento State Hornets and the California Baptist Lancers meet Sunday in college basketball action from California Baptist University Events Center.

Sacramento State enters this one at 6-6 so far. As for Cal Baptist, they’re currently sitting at 10-6. This will be a rematch of Saturday’s game featuring these teams. In that one, Cal Baptist notched a 12-point victory. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Sacramento State began their season at 4-1 with wins over Bethesda, Idaho and Fresno Pacific. The Hornets went just 2-4 over their next six games, falling to Saint Mary’s, Idaho State, Montana and twice to Eastern Washington in that stretch.

In Saturday’s matchup against Cal Baptist, Sacramento State fell behind 39-27 and couldn’t gain any ground in the second half in an 83-71 loss. Ethan Esposito led the team with 22 points, seven rebounds and one assist.

Over on the Cal Baptist side, they came into the season at a shaky 3-4 over their first seven games, but then rattles off five straight wins over Tarleton, San Diego Christian, Long Beach State and Dixie State. The Lancers lost to Dixie Sate and New Mexico State in their next three games.

In Saturday’s game, the Lancers scored 39 points in the first half and another 44 in the second during a nice offensive effort. Ty Rowell led the way on 22 points, and Gorjok Gak doubled up on 11 points and 14 boards.

Cal Baptist is 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall. The over is 4-1 in the Lancers’ last five overall and 6-2 in their last eight home games.

The Hornets are 10-3-2 ATS in their last 15 Sunday games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The over is 4-1 in the Hornets’ last five overall and the under is 19-9-1 in their last 29 road games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Cal Baptist here. The Lancers had a nice run of scoring totals going heading into the weekend, with 70 or more in nine straight games. Saturday’s matchup was another great outing for the Lancers, and they got off to a quick start with 39 first-half points. I think Cal Baptist will come out with another strong game in this one.
