This game has been canceled due to COVID. The Sacramento State Hornets and the Oregon State Beavers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Gill Coliseum. Sacramento State is 4-5 so far this year. The Hornets are coming off a win over Menlo. As for the Beavers, they’re 2-10 on the season and fresh off a win over Nicholls State. Sacramento State won three of their first five games this year, beating William Jessup, Cal Poly and UC Davis. After losses to Arizona, Montana and Montana State, the Hornets managed another win over Menlo.

In the December 17 victory versus Menlo, the Hornets scored 36 points in the first half and 31 more from there in a 67-53 win. Sacramento State’s leading scorer Zach Chappell put up 15 points, and William Fitzpatrick added 12 more.

Over on the Beavers’ side, they won their opener versus Portland State, then fell to Iowa State, Tulsa, Samford, Princeton, Wake Forest, Penn State, Cal, Arizona, UC Davis and Texas A&M. Oregon State finally got another win over Nicholls State in their last game.

On December 21 versus Nicholls State, the Beavers put up a 41-25 edge at the break and cruised to the 83-61 win. Jarod Lucas finished on 24 points with two boards, and Warith Alatishe added 15 points with seven boards.

The Beavers are 1-8 ATS in their last nine at home and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 after an ATS win. Oregon State is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Tuesday games.

Meanwhile, the Hornets are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four Tuesday games and 0-5 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win. The over is 6-1 in Sac State’s last seven road games.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Oregon State. We should have a pretty good matchup on our hands here. The Beavers managed a surprisingly dominant win over Nicholls State in their last game, finishing with 53.6 percent shooting from the field and 38 rebounds. Oregon State has managed a few good offensive outings this year, and they’ve hit 73 or more in each of their last pair.

As for Sacramento State, they’ve been pretty sluggish on the scoreboard over the last four games. I like this one to be a fairly high-scoring and competitive matchup most of the way, though.
