Drexel hit a 5-5 run to start the season, then weren’t able to play any games from December 14 to January 3. Since then it’s been a choppy run for the Dragons as they fight to stay above water. The good news is that they’re 3-1 in their last four and coming off a win over Northeastern.

In the matchup versus Northeastern on Saturday, the Dragons jumped out to a 36-16 lead by halftime. Drexel was outscored 31-35 from there but still took the 67-51 win. Leading scorer Xavier Bell put up 22 points with three rebounds.

Over on the Charleston side, they were only able to play three games from December 16 through January 17 and came back to a 1-4 run. Since then the Cougars managed wins over Northeastern, William & Mary and Elon before losing to UNC Wilmington.

Matched up against UNC Wilmington, the Cougars took a 38-47 deficit into the break. Charleston got better on a 41-38 run from there but still lost 85-79. John Meeks was the leading scorer on 21 points and nine boards.

The Cougars are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five Monday games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven at home. Charleston is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 overall.

Meanwhile, the Dragons are 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 Monday games and 5-1 ATS in the last six road games. Drexel is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 overall.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Drexel here, but probably not touching it. The Dragons have scored pretty well during this 3-1 run, with 72 or more points in three of those outings. Drexel has been choppy for all of 2022, though; they’ve only won consecutive games once since early January. That said, Drexel should be able to stick it out with Charleston if the Dragons can pump some early points to the scoreboard. This one should be a good matchup.
