The Louisville Cardinals and the Cincinnati Bearcats meet in college basketball action from the Lahaina Civic Center on Wednesday.
The Louisville Cardinals will still be on the hunt for their first win of the season after a 70-38 beatdown loss at the hands of Texas Tech in their last game. El Ellis leads the Cardinals in scoring and assists as the lone double-digit scorer for Louisvills so far this season, logging 18 PPG and 3 APG to lead the Cardinals in the assist department as well. Jae’Lyn Withers has 9.8 PPG with 4.5 RPG and Brandon Huntley-Hatfield has a team-high 6.2 RPG to lead the Cardinals on the glass this season. As a team, Louisville is averaging 58 points per game on 38.8% shooting from the field, 30.6% from three point range and 72.5% from the foul line up to this point in the season.
The Cincinnati Bearcats will try to bounce back after a crushing 81-53 loss to Ohio State in their last game. Landers Nolley II leads the Bearcats in scoring with 15.2 PPG and 4.5 RPG while David DeJulius has 13.8 PPG with a team-high 3 APG so far this season, leading Cincinnati in the assist department so far this season. Jeremiah Davenport has 11 PPG with 3.7 RPG and Viktor Lakhin has 10.8 PPG with a team-high 7.2 RPG to lead the Bearcats on the glass and to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Cincinnati so far this season. As a team, Cincinnati is averaging 75.2 points per game on 43.7% shooting from the field, 33.6% from three point range and 65.5% from the foul line up to this point in the year
I’m going to be blunt, there’s no backing this Louisville team. At first it just seemed like bad luck that they lost three one point games in a row to start the year but now have been blasted by Arkansas and Texas Tech in their first two games of this tournament and while this may be a different Cincinnati team, the result will like ly start the same. Give me the Bearcats here.
