Coastal Carolina vs Wofford 12/12/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Wofford Terriers and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers meet Sunday in college basketball action from HTC Center. Wofford is 7-3 this year and took out Gardner-Webb in their last game. As for the Chanticleers, they’re 4-3 so far. Coastal Carolina lost to Mercer in their most recent outing. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Wofford put up a 4-1 run in their first five games, taking out Bob Jones, Erskine, Hampton and GA Southern. Since then it’s been a 3-2 run with losses to South Carolina and Richmond mixed with wins over Georgia, Kennesaw State and Gardner-Webb.

On Wednesday versus Gardner-Webb, Wofford had a slim two-point edge at the break but was able to score 40 from there in a 78-70 win. Leading scorer BJ Mack put up 28 points with 13 rebounds and two assists.

Over on the Coastal Carolina side, they went 2-2 in their first four games this year, losing to UNC Wilmington and Toledo while beating Ferrum and Valparaiso. Wins over South Carolina and Winthrop came next, then a loss to Mercer.

In the Monday loss to Mercer, Coastal Carolina had a five-point deficit at the break. The Chanticleers kept up from there but couldn’t pull away in a 74-69 loss. Coastal’s Vince Cole scored 17 points, and Ebrima Dibba posted 13 points with 10 assists.

The Chanticleers are 4-0 ATS in the last four after a straight-up loss and 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. The under is 4-0 in Coastal’s last four Sunday games.
Meanwhile, the Terriers are 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 Sunday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall. The under is 10-4 in Wofford’s last 14 road games.

PICK: I’m going to try Wofford in this one. The Terriers have gotten their offense going well this season, with 68 or more points in nine of 10 games (the outlier was a 64). Wofford shot a nice 49.1 percent from the field with 38 rebounds in the Gardner-Webb win, but only hit 4-of-18 from 3-point range.

As for Coastal, they’re scoring pretty well lately themselves and I like the Chanticleers to make this one competitive. Should be a fun matchup but I like the Terriers a little better on the cover.
