Colorado State vs Fresno State 1/7/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Fresno State Bulldogs and the Colorado State Rams meet Saturday in college basketball action from Moby Arena. Fresno State is currently 6-8 overall following an upset win over New Mexico. As for Colorado State, they’re 8-8 on the year after losing to Nevada on Wednesday. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Fresno State was just 3-7 through their first 10 games this season, beating only Fresno Pacific, CSU Northridge and UC Irvine. The Bulldogs are 3-1 since then with wins over CSUB, Wyoming and New Mexico.

In the New Mexico matchup on Tuesday, the Bulldogs were up 36-32 by halftime. Fresno State kept the pace from there and won it 71-67. Isaih Moore led the team with 16 points, and Isaiah Hill added 14 points with four rebounds.

Over on the Colorado State side, they were 6-4 after 10 games this year. The Rams lost to Charleston, Penn State, Northern Colorado and Colorado in that stretch. Colorado State has since gone 2-4 with wins over Peru State and Saint Mary’s.

On Wednesday versus Nevada, Colorado State took a nine-point deficit into halftime. The Rams didn’t end up getting any closer and lost 80-69. Patrick Carter was the high scorer on the team with 18 points.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Fresno State—so long as they don’t suffer a hangover from that big upset win over New Mexico, that is. The Bulldogs posted 50 percent shooting overall with a 31-30 rebounding advantage in that one and played quite well. That said, Fresno State has scored 58 or fewer points in four of their last five games; they’ll want to get moving quickly in this one. Colorado State should be able to stick to the cover pace themselves, so this should be an interesting matchup.
