The Spartans beat UNLV in their Wednesday game. As for Colorado State, they’re 8-6 on the year and coming off a loss to New Mexico on Wednesday. San Jose State went 4-2 over their first six games this year, losing to only Hofstra and North Texas. The Spartans have since gone 6-2 with wins over Oakland, Ball State, CSU-Bakersfield, Santa Clara, Cal Poly and UNLV.

On Wednesday versus UNLV, the Spartans were up 41-30 at the break but ultimately needed overtime to power out a 75-72 victory. Omari Moore was the leading team scorer with 15 points, seven assists and two rebounds.

Over on the Colorado side, they went 4-2 in their first six games and took losses to Charleston and Penn State. The Rams have hit a 4-4 stretch since then featuring losses to Northern Colorado, Colorado, USC and New Mexico.

Matched up against New Mexico in their last game, Colorado State was drilled 49-24 in the first half. The Rams got better from there but still lost 88-69. Leading scorers Patrick Cartier and John Tonje each posted 16 points.

PICK: I’ll probably stay with San Jose State here. The Spartans had a sketchy second half against UNLV in their last outing but everything worked out in overtime. San Jose State has hit 67 or fewer points in five of their last seven games, however they’ve gone 5-2 in that stretch. As for Colorado State, they were badly beaten by a great New Mexico team in their last outing and haven’t seen 70 points in four of their last five games. If San Jose State gets going early I don’t think the Rams will be able to keep the cover pace.
