The New Mexico Lobos and the Colorado Buffaloes meet in college basketball action from the Coors Events Center on Saturday.
The New Mexico Lobos will be looking to build on their 99-92 win over FAU last time out. Jaelen House led the Lobos with 30 points on 10 of 19 shooting with a team-high 6 assists and a pair of steals while Jay Allen-Tovar and Gethro Muscadin each had 18 points with Allen-Tovar shooting 7 of 14 with 3 threes and a team-high 8 rebounds while Muscadin shot 6 of 8 with a pair of steals and a pair of blocks. Jamal Mashburn Jr added 14 points with a pair of threes and K.J. Jenkins had 10 points to cap off the scoring in double figures for New Mexico in the win. As a team, New Mexico shot 53% from the field, 52.2% from three and 73.9% from the foul line in the winning effort.
The Colorado Buffaloes will be looking to build on a 94-90 overtime win over Montana State last time out. Keeshawn Barthelemy led the Buffs with 19 points on 6 of 11 shooting with 3 threes and a team-high 5 assists while Eli Parquet had 17 points and Evan Battey had 16 points on a perfect 6 of 6 shooting with 5 boards. Jabari Walkre added 14 points on 4 of 8 shooting with a pair of threes, 8 rebounds and 3 steals while Nique Clifford had 11 points with a team-high 9 rebounds and a pair of steals to cap off the scoring in double figures for Colorado in the win. As a team, Colorado shot 50.9% from the field, 47.4% from three and 73% from the foul line in the winning effort.
New Mexico is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games as an underdog. Colorado is 7-3 ATS in their last10 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games while the over is 23-9-1 in their last 33 home games.
I get why the Buffaloes would be favored at home, but I’m not laying this many points just because Colorado is supposed to be better. They almost took the loss to Montana State Colorado did in their opener and you could argue that the Buffs should’ve lost that game. New Mexico’s defense is a concern, but both sides allowed 90+ points in the opener and both scored well so if that continues, we will be just fine with the points and New Mexico here.
