Cornell vs Dartmouth Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/17/23

The Dartmouth Big Green and the Cornell Big Red meet Friday in college basketball action from Newman Arena. Dartmouth enters this one at 9-15 overall. The Big Green beat Princeton in their last game. As for Cornell, they’re 15-8 so far after a loss to Brown last weekend. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Dartmouth Big Green

Dartmouth got off to a rough start this year, going just 5-12 over their first 17 games. The Big Green are 4-3 since then, beating Penn Harvard, Columbia and Princeton in that time. The losses came versus Princeton, Brown and Yale otherwise.

On Saturday versus Princeton, Dartmouth went into the break down 40-35. The Big Green stormed back on a 48-36 second-half run and won it 83-76. Demi Adelekun was the top scorer on 25 points and Dusan Neskovic added 21 points.

Cornell Big Red

Over on the Cornell side, they started out the year on a 12-4 run. The Big Red have stumbled a bit on a 3-4 run since then however, with losses to Harvard, Princeton, Penn and Brown alongside wins over Yale, Columbia and Brown.

In the Brown rematch on Saturday, the Big Red were drilled 42-24 in the first half. Cornell got better from there on a 42-38 second-half run in an 80-66 loss. Nazir Williams was the lead team scorer with 14 points and four rebounds.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m staying with Cornell. The Big Red need a good bounce-back effort here after a rough first half in the Brown game, however. Cornell is currently on an ugly 1-4 skid but they’ve still been scoring well with 80 or more points in four of those five outings. The last time these teams got together back on January 1 at Leede Arena, Cornell powered out a 74-63 win. I like the Big Red to post an even bigger win at home in the rematch.
