Lafayette lost their first four games of the year to Miami-FL, St. Johns, Saint Joseph’s and UMBC. The Leopards finally got a win over Central CT State, then dropped their next pair to Penn and Penn State.

In the Wednesday matchup versus Drexel, Lafayette took a 30-29 deficit into halftime. The Leopards didn’t get any closer in a 64-56 loss. Leading scorers Kyle Jenkins and CJ Fulton each scored 12 points with a combined eight boards.

Over on the Cornell side, they lost their first game to Boston College 79-77. Since then it’s been a six-game win streak over SUNY Delhi, St. Francis PA, Ithaca, Canisius, Monmouth and Delaware.

In the Delaware game back on Thursday, the Big Red trailed 32-30 at the break. Cornell rallied in the second half with a 44-35 run and took the comeback win 74-67. Leading scorer Greg Dolan finished with 15 points and three rebounds.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Cornell. The Big Red got into a bit of trouble in the Delaware game but to their credit they eventually recovered. Cornell ended up shooting 46.8 percent from the field in that one and got out-rebounded 33-30. The Red had 20 assists and just 10 turnovers to the Hens’ 16 assists and 18 turnovers, however. Lafayette hasn’t been scoring so well this year (68-point high) so if the Big Red can get the offense going they should be fine.
