The Yale Bulldogs will look to build on a 66-61 win over Dartmouth last time out. Azar Swain leads the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding with 19 PPG and 4.2 RPG while Jalen Gabbidon has 11.9 PPG with 3.4 RPG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers for Yale so far this season. Matthue Cotton also has 7.7 PPG for the Bulldogs up to this point in the year. The Cornell Big Red will look to snap a three-game losing skid after a 77-72 OT loss to Harvard last time out. Chris Manon leads the Big Red in scoring with 10.4 PPG along with 3.7 RPG while Jordan Jones has 10.3 PPG and Dean Noll has 10.2 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Cornell this season. Sarju Patel has 9.3 PPG and Kobe Dickson has team-highs of 4.5 RPG and 2.8 APG. As a team, Cornell is averaging 79.9 PPG on 46.9% shooting from the field, 34.6% from three and 70.5% from the foul line while allowing 75.4 PPG on 43% shooting from the field and 32.4% from three this season.
Yale is 44-12 ATS in their last 56 games as a road favorite and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 road games. Cornell is 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 4-0-1 ATS in their aslt 5 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 7-0 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record.
I get the case to be made for Cornell at home as the Big Red need the win here, but I’m going to back Yale as the Bulldogs are trying to lock up the Ivy League regular season title sooner rather than later. Cornell’s also been shaky as of late, even at home, so I’ll side with Yale in this one.
