Austin Peay started out the year against Tennessee Southern and played pretty well. The Governors scored 46 points in the second half in that one during an 86-79 win. In game two against Southern Illinois, Austin Peay took their first defeat in a 73-55 result.

The Governors matched up against Fort Wayne in their last outing. Austin Peay could only find 25 first-half points on the way to a frustrating 65-60 loss. Leading the scoring was Tariq Silver with 15 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Over on the Dayton side, they were down 32-25 at halftime in their opener versus UIC, but surged from there in a 64-54 win. Game two was the Flyers’ first loss. They couldn’t come back against UMass Lowell and ended up falling 59-58 in a tough one.

In game three against Lipscomb, Dayton had another rough game. The Flyers fell behind 38-28 at halftime and didn’t get any closer in a 78-59 loss. Toumani Camara, Elijah Weaver and Malachi Smith all led the team with 11 points apiece.

Dayton is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS loss and 0-5 ATS in their last five overall. The Flyers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine after a straight-up loss.

Meanwhile, the Governors are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Saturday games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games. Austin Peay is 1-5 ATS in their last six overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Dayton. The Flyers are coming off a pretty flat offensive effort against Lipscomb, however. They’re going to need to make some adjustments. The good news is that Dayton got a lot of players involved during their last game; five of them had eight points or more.

As for Austin Peay, they shot just 38.3 percent against Fort Wayne with 17 total turnovers. I like this one to be a higher-scoring game, with the Governors eventually losing the pace in the second half.
