The Seton Hall Pirates and the DePaul Blue Demons meet Saturday in college basketball action from Wintrust Arena. Seton Hall is 10-8 so far. The Pirates beat Georgetown in their last game. As for DePaul, they’re sitting at 8-9 after a win over Villanova on Tuesday. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Seton Hall went 7-5 over their first 12 games, losing to Iowa, Oklahoma, Siena, Kansas and Providence. The Pirates are 3-3 in their last six games, taking wins over St. John’s, Butler and Georgetown during that stretch.

On Tuesday versus Georgetown, the Pirates took a 27-27 tie into the break. Seton Hall posted a 39-24 run in the second half and won it 66-51. Al-Amir Dawes was the lead team scorer on 24 points with two rebounds.

Over on the DePaul side, they were 6-6 after 12 games with losses to Santa Clara, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, St. John’s, Duquesne and Northwestern. The Demons are 2-3 since then with wins over Georgetown and Villanova.

Matched up against Villanova on Tuesday, the Demons were down 31-30 going into the second half. DePaul went on a 45-34 run in the second and took the comeback win 75-65. Da’Sean Nelson was the lead scorer on 24 points and eight boards.

PICK: I’m probably staying with Seton Hall here. We should have a pretty good matchup on our hands regardless, though. The Pirates have posted 66 or more points in seven of their last eight games, going 4-4 in that stretch. Seton Hall has held opponents to a combined 102 points over their last two outings as well. As for DePaul, they’ve hit 70 or more points in three of their last four. There are plenty of different ways this matchup could shake out, so I’m probably staying away. It looks like it’ll be a fun game to watch, though.
