Dixie State vs Weber State 11/27/2021 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Weber State Wildcats and the Dixie State Trailblazers meet in college basketball action from Burns Arena on Saturday night.

The Weber State Wildcats will be out to add to a 68-58 win over the Green Bay phoenix in their last game. Koby McEwen leads the Wildcats in scoring with 18.4 PPG along with 5.2 RPG while Jamison Overton’s got 15.2 PPG and 4.2 RPG and Dillon Jones has 13.8 PPG and a team-high 11 RPG to make up a double-double per game average, leading Weber State on the glass. Seikou Sisoho-Jawara also has 12.2 PPG and a team-high 4.2 APG to lead the Wildcats in assists as well this season. As a team, Weber State is averaging 80.8 PPG on 53.3% shooting from the field, 38.3% from three and 68.5% from the foul line while allowing 64.8 PPG on 39.5% shooting from the field and 28.8% from three this season.

The Dixie State Trailblazers will try to bounce back from a 98-71 loss at the hands of the USC Trojans in their last game. Cameron Gooden leads the Trailblazers in scoring and rebounding with 16 PPG and 4.2 RPG while Hunter Schofield has 14.8 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Dixie State so far this season. Brock Gilbert’s also dishing out a taem-high 5.2 APG as well this season for the Trailblazers. As a team, Dixie State’s averaging 71 PPG on 40.5% shooting from the field, 32% from three and 70.4% from the foul line while allowing 87 PPG on 49.7% shooting from the field and 40% from three this season.

Weber State is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a road favorite and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400 while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 road games against a team with a winning home record. Dixie State is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a home underdog and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall.

I think it goes without saying that on the surface, Dixie State has the most impressive cover here against Gonzaga, even getting 40 points in that game because the Trailblazers were nowhere near the level of the Zags. With that said, I think that the Trailblazers are in over their heads a bit as well in this game. Weber State’s just the better and more experienced team and I don’t see any way that the Wildcats don’t win this game by at least 15-20. Give me Weber State here.
