East Tennessee State vs North Carolina A&T 12/14/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The North Carolina A&T Aggies and the East Tennessee State Buccaneers meet in college hoops action from Freedom Hall Civic Center on Tuesday night.

The North Carolina A&T Aggies come into this game looking to shake off an 83-68 loss to UCF in their last game. Marcus Watson leads the Aggies in scoring and rebounding with 12.1 PPG and 5.4 RPG while Demetric Horton has 11.3 PPG with 4.6 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for North Carolina up to this point in the season. David Beatty has 9.6 PPG and Kameron Langley has a team-high 5.7 APG to lead the Aggies in the assist department. As a team, North Carolina A&T is averaging 68.2 PPG on 41.9% shooting from the field, 30.7% from three and 62.4% from the foul line while allowing 70.5 PPG on 42.6% shooting from the field and 33.2% from three this season.

The East Tennessee State Buccaneers will try to add to their 82-75 win over Morehead State last time out. Ledarrius Brewer leads the Buccaneers in scoring with 12.7 PPG while David Sloan is right behind with 12.5 PPG and a team-high 4.4 APG this season. Jordan King has 10.9 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for East Tennessee State up to this point in the season while Ty Brewer’s also chipping in 8 PPG and a team-high 6.4 RPG this season. As a team, East Tennessee State is averaging 70.5 PPG on 41.5% shooting from the field, 32.8% from three and 81.1% from the foul line while allowing 67.6 PPG on 42.4% shooting from the field and 70.8% from three this season.

I get East Tennessee State being favored at home, but the Buccaneers are fairly unproven at home up to this point and I’m not sure how comfortable I am laying double-digits even against North Carolina A&T. The Aggies have been beat up on the road, but against teams like UCF, East Carolina, Stanford and Wake Forest on the road (two games that NC A&T covered) that kind of stuff is bound to happen. I think this is just a case of too many points and until I see East Tennessee State make a statement at home, I’m going the other way. Give me North Carolina A&T and the points.
