Eastern Michigan vs Florida Atlantic 12/4/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The FAU Owls and the Eastern Michigan Eagles meet in college basketball action from the GameAbove Center on Sunday afternoon.

The FAU Owls will look to build on their 84-59 win over South Alabama to push their win streak to five last time out. Michael Forrest has 13.8 PPG while Alijah Martin has 12.6 PPG with a team-high 5.8 RPG to lead the Jaguars in rebounding up to this point in the season. Vladislav Goldin has 11.1 PPG with 5.1 RPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for FAU so far this season. Jalen Gaffney also has 2.6 APG for the Owls on the year. As a team, FAU is averaging 77.4 PPG on 47.6% shooting from the field, 37.9% from behind the arc and 64.6% from the foul line this season.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles will try to build on an 80-68 win over FIU last time out. Emoni Bates leads the Eagles in scoring and rebounding with 20.4 PPG along with a team-high 6.6 RPG while Noah Farrakhan has 14 PPG with 4.1 RPG and 2.8 APG. Tyson Acuff has 12.6 PPG with 3.6 RPG and a team-high 3 APG to finish off the trio of double-digit scorers for Eastern Michigan up to this point in the season. As a team, Eastern Michigan is averaging 75.8 PPG on 45.1% shooting from the field, 35.9% from three and 74.6% from the foul line this season.

FAU is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games against a team with a losing home record while the over is 10-4 in their last 14 games following a win. Eastern Michigan is 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 0-8 ATS in their last 8 home games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.

I get the case to be made for a home underdog in a lot of spots, but Eastern Michigan has some serious issues on the defensive end that need to be addressed as this team’s been giving up points in bunches for most of the season. FAU on the other hand has no problem scoring in bunches and while the defense lacks in spots, they’re the far better unit and I think this one’s all FAU. Give me the Owls laying the points.
