The Western Michigan Broncos and the Eastern Michigan Eagles meet Tuesday in college basketball action from EMU Convocation Center. Western Michigan is currently 7-20 on the year and fresh off a win over Ball State. As for Eastern Michigan, they’re sitting at 6-21 so far. The Eagles lost to Kent State on Friday. Western Michigan Broncos
Western Michigan logged a sketchy 6-14 record over their first 20 games of the year. The Broncos lost to Central Michigan, Northern Illinois, Buffalo, Miami-OH, Northern Illinois again and Kent State before another win over Ball State.
On Saturday versus Ball State, the Broncos were up 36-29 going into the second half. Western Michigan hit a 42-39 run from there and won the game 78-68. Tray Maddox scored 22 points to lead the team and Lamar Norman added 20 points of his own.
Eastern Michigan Eagles
Over on the Eastern Michigan side, they kicked off their year on a rough 4-16 run. The Broncos would then beat Miami-OH and Ohio before losses to Ball State, Buffalo, Toledo, Akron and Kent State in the next five games.
In the Saturday matchup versus Kent State, Eastern Michigan was outscored 41-25 in the first half and 40-29 in the second for an 81-54 defeat. Emoni Bates led the way on a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

I’ll probably take Western Michigan here. Also probably not going near it. That said, it should be a pretty competitive game. The Broncos halted an ugly nine-game losing streak with the win over Ball State on Saturday. Western Michigan had been scoring pretty well during that time though, and they’ve got 69 or more points in five of their last eight outings. The Broncos were able to carve out an 85-79 win at University Arena the last time these teams met up, and if they play well I think Western Michigan can post a cover in the rematch.
