Evansville vs IUPUI College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 11/11/2021

The IUPUI Jaguars and the Evansville Aces meet in college basketball action from the Ford Center on Thursday night.

The IUPUI Jaguars will be looking to bounce back from a 56-47 loss at the hands of Butler in their season opener last time out. B.J. Maxwell led the Jaguars with 14 points on 4 of 11 shooting with a pair of threes and a team-high 6 rebounds while Bakari LaStrap had 8 points on 4 of 7 shooting in 17 minutes off of the bench and after LaStrap, no other Jaguar had more than 6 points. Boston Stanton III had 5 points with a team-high 3 assists as well in the defeat. IUPUI shot 37.5% from the floor, 13% from three and 53.3% from the foul line in the losing effort.

The Evansville Aces will be looking to bounce back from a 65-43 loss at the hands of Cincinnati in their last matchup. Evan Kuhlman and Blaise Beauchamp each had a team-high 11 points as the lone pair of double-digit scorers for Evansville in the losing effort, with Kuhlman going 4 of 12 from the floor with 6 rebounds while Beauchamp shot 3 of 10 from the floor. Noah Frederking had 6 points on a pair of threes with a team-high 8 rebounds and Shamar Givance added 7 points with a team-high 5 assists. Evansville shot 25.9% from the field, 26.9% from three and 57.1% from the foul line in the losing effort.

IUPUI is 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 road games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the over is 20-6 in their last 26 games following a loss. Evansville is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games as a favorite and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games as a home favorite.

Neither of these teams had the start they wanted in the opener, so the numbers should improve against a lesser opponent. With that said, I’m looking at the under here. I don’t want to lay double digits with Evansville, but I also don’t trust IUPUI to keep themselves in the game. I do think that even with the step down in competition, we struggle to see one team get out of the 60s, so give me the under here.
