The Jackson State Tigers and the Georgetown Hoyas meet Saturday in college basketball action from Capital One Arena. Jackson State managed their first win of the year over Missouri on Sunday, moving the team to 1-5 overall. As for Georgetown, they’re sitting at 3-2 overall following a five-point win over American on Sunday. Here’s our Jackson State vs Georgetown Prediction.
Jackson State Tigers
The Tigers struggled putting up points in their first five games, taking losses in all of them. Jackson State’s defeats came at the hands of Memphis, San Diego, Cal Baptist, LMU and Tulsa during that stretch. In the 72-52 defeat by the Hurricane, Jackson State shot a rough 35.2 percent from the field and hit just three of 20 from outside (15 percent).
The Tigers played their best game of the year so far versus Missouri in their most recent outing. After a 37-34 halftime deficit, Jackson State came back with 39 points from there in a 73-72 victory. Ken Evans was the team’s leading scorer on 22 points with four rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Georgetown Hoyas
Over on the Georgetown side, they went 2-2 in their first four games. The Hoyas had losses to Holy Cross and Rutgers sandwiched between wins over LeMoyne 94-57 and Mount St. Mary’s 83-72. In the win over the Mountaineers, Georgetown managed to hit 50.8 percent from the field but went just 15-of-22 (68.2 percent) from the line.
The Hoyas managed to win consecutive games for the first time this year following a matchup versus American on Sunday. Georgetown needed overtime to get there, but came away with an 88-83 victory. Jayden Epps paced the scoring on 31 points, while Dontrez Styles doubled up on 22 points and 11 rebounds.
ANDREW’S FREE GEORGETOWN VS JACKSON STATE PREDICTION
I’ll probably stick with Georgetown. Also probably not touching this one. The Hoyas finally have a bit of momentum after their wins over Mount St. Mary’s and American, but the latter was a very close call. Georgetown was outmuscled on the boards against the Eagles 42-35 (16-13 offensive) and gave up 46.8 percent shooting from the field. Rebounding is going to be key in this one.
As for Jackson State, they hit 45.2 percent of their shots in the win over Missouri but also lost the rebounding battle 34-32 and had 13 turnovers. If the Tigers can carry some of that momentum into this game I think they’ll follow along for most of it. Georgetown seems a slightly better cover option, though.
