Grand Canyon vs New Mexico State 2/19/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The New Mexico State Aggies and the Grand Canyon Antelopes meet Saturday in college basketball action from GCU Arena. New Mexico State is currently 21-4 and coming off a win over Dixie State. As for Grand Canyon, they’re sitting at 18-6 so far. The Antelopes beat Cal Baptist in their last outing. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

New Mexico State has remained a highly consistent team this year. They haven’t lost consecutive games yet. The Aggies have beaten Stephen F. Austin, Grand Canyon, Cal Baptist, Seattle and Dixie State (twice) during this 6-1 run.

On Wednesday versus Dixie State, the Aggies posted a 37-25 advantage by halftime. New Mexico cruised from there in an eventual 75-64 victory. Teddy Allen led the team with 20 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Over on the Grand Canyon side, they managed a 14-2 run over the first 16 games this year then hit a three-game losing streak in January. The Antelopes have gone 4-1 since then with wins over Seattle, Cal Baptist, Utah Valley and Cal Baptist again.

In the rematch versus Cal Baptist on Wednesday, the Antelopes logged a 33-31 run in the first half and a 32-29 advantage from there in a 65-60 victory. Both Jovan Blackshear and Holland Woods put up 16 points and three assists each.

The Antelopes are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 at home and 1-7 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win. Grand Canyon is 0-4 ATS in their last four Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Aggies are 1-4 ATS in the last five overall and 5-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games. The over is 9-4 in New Mexico State’s last 13 road games.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on New Mexico State. The Aggies have a 71-46 blowout loss to Sam Houston on January 20 and a 72-68 loss to Utah Valley last weekend but other than that they’ve been on a great run since late November. The last time these teams met up back on January 29, New Mexico State secured a 71-61 win at home. This one’s bound to be a fight as the Antelopes try for revenge, but I like the Aggies to fend them off and bang out a cover/win. Should be a good one.
