Howard went just 2-4 over their first six games, losing to Kentucky, George Washington, James Madison and Wyoming. The Bison have since gone 3-4, beating Buffalo, Austin Peay and Florida International along the way.
In the Tuesday matchup versus FIU, the Bison took a 30-26 edge into the break. Howard kept it up in the second with a 41-33 run in a 71-59 win. Jordan Wood posted 15 points, and William Settle doubled on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Over on the Harvard side, they hit a 5-1 run over their first six games with only a loss to Louisiana. In their last four, the Crimson are 2-2 with wins over Holy Cross and Tufts alongside losses to Fordham and UMass.
In the Tufts game last weekend, Harvard scored 35 points in the first half and 41 more in the second during a 76-59 win. Leading scorers Chris Ledlum and Luka Sakota each posted 18 points with a combined 11 rebounds.
PICK: I’ll probably stick with Harvard. Also probably not going near this one. The Crimson have generally scored pretty well in comparable matchups this year. Harvard has hit 68 or more points in seven of their 10 games and should keep that going here. As for Howard, they’re coming off a much-needed win over FIU. The Bison had scored 65 points or fewer in each of their previous four games. I don’t think they’ll keep up in this one.
