The Princeton Tigers and the Harvard Crimson meet Saturday in college basketball action from Lavietes Pavilion. Princeton is currently 17-8 on the season and fresh off a loss to Yale. Princeton Tigers

Princeton’s season began with a decent 13-5 run over their first 18 games. The Tigers are a rocky 4-3 since then however with wins over Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia and Brown alongside losses to Yale, Dartmouth and Yale again.

In the Yale rematch last Saturday, the Tigers scored 34 points in the first half, 36 in the second and 13 in overtime during a tough 93-83 loss. Leading scorer Tosan Evbuomwan doubled up on 22 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in the defeat.

Harvard Crimson

Over on the Harvard side, they opened up the season on an 11-7 run through 18 games. The Crimson have gone 3-5 in their last eight with losses to Dartmouth, Penn, Yale, Brown and Penn again. The wins were over Cornell, Columbia and Cornell again.

Matched up against Cornell last Saturday, the Crimson took a 40-34 edge into the second half. Harvard hit a 33-22 run from there and took the win easily 73-56. Chris Ledlum went off for 35 points and 13 rebounds while Idan Tretout added 19 points.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m going to take a stab on Harvard here. The Crimson are sitting on consecutive wins, scoring a combined 156 points against Columbia and Cornell. Harvard is just 1-4 in their last five home games however, so the team will need a big turnaround in this one. These teams last met up back on New Year’s Eve in a 69-66 Princeton win at Jadwin Gym. The Tigers are 1-2 in their last three outings and not exactly playing their best basketball right now, so I think Harvard can power out a cover/win in the rematch. Should be a fun, competitive game.
