Northern Iowa was siting at 9-9 back in late January but the team has really turned it on since then. The Panthers are 7-1 in their last eight games. Since their last loss to Loyola, Northern Iowa has beaten Illinois State and Missouri State.

Matched up against Missouri State on Sunday, the Panthers posted a 49-33 run in the first half. Northern Iowa scored 46 more points from there in a 95-75 win. AJ Green led the scoring on 21 points with seven assists.

Over on the Indiana State side, their year started at 8-6 overall. It’s been a rough run since then. The Sycamores managed recent wins over Evansville and Illinois State but they’ve lost to Missouri State, Southern Illinois and Drake in the last trio.

On Monday versus Drake, the Sycamores had a 36-32 lead by halftime. Indiana State fell behind on a 22-42 run from there for the 74-58 loss. Cameron Henry was the team’s top scorer on 17 points with three rebounds.

The Sycamores are 2-7 ATS in their last nine overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. The under is 38-16 in Indiana State’s last 54 at home.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games. Northern Iowa is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Wednesday games.

PICK: I’m going with Northern Iowa here. The Panthers had a rough game versus Loyola earlier this month, but otherwise they’ve done well in this 7-1 stretch. Northern Iowa has scored 72 or more points in five of their last seven outings.

The last time these teams met up, Northern Iowa put up an 80-74 overtime win at home back on January 11. I don’t think this one will be quite as competitive, even with the road setting for the Panthers.
