The Wright State Raiders and the IUPUI Jaguars meet Monday in college basketball action from Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Wright State is 7-7 so far this year. The Raiders lost to Northern Kentucky in their last game Thursday. As for IUPUI, they’re 3-11 following a loss to Northern Kentucky on Saturday. Wright State has beaten Louisville, Bowling Green, Defiance, Abilene Christian, Weber State, UNOH and Miami-OH this year. The losses otherwise have come versus Davidson, UC Riverside, Robert Morris, Youngstown State, Western Kentucky, Akron and Northern Kentucky.
In the Northern Kentucky matchup on Thursday, the Raiders trailed 33-29 going into the second half. Wright State was outpaced 45-35 from there and lost 78-64. Marques Warrick was the lead scorer on 19 points.
Over on the IUPUI side, they went just 1-8 over their first nine games with a lone win over Franklin. The Jaguars are 2-3 since then with losses to Eastern Illinois, Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky.
In Saturday’s Northern Kentucky matchup, the Jaguars went into the break down 29-21. IUPUI scored just 21 points from there and lost 55-42. Vincent Brady was the only team double-digit scorer with 13 points and five rebounds.
PICK: I’ll probably stick with Wright State, but not going near this one. The Raiders have been a mixed bag lately, with 64 or fewer points scored in three of their last five games. IUPUI is in something of the same boat; they’ve hit 62 or fewer in three of their last four outings. If nothing else this should be an entertaining game and a competitive matchup if both teams are playing well. Ultimately I think Wright State can power out the cover, though.
