Wright State stumbled in their first nine games this year, going just 2-7. The only wins were versus Fort Wayne and Lake Erie. The Raiders bounced back with a nice seven-game win streak before falling to Youngstown State over the weekend.

In the Youngstown State game, Wright State had a 46-40 lead at halftime. The Raiders were outscored 50-41 from there in a 90-87 loss. Tanner Holden led the team 27 points and 11 rebounds. Grant Basile added 26 points with 10 rebounds as well.

Over on the IUPUI side, it’s been a rough season so far. The Jaguars managed a November 23 win over Spalding but otherwise lost 14 of their first 15 games. Early January saw a four-game losing streak to Wright State, UIC, Green Bay and Milwaukee.

In Tuesday’s matchup versus Ohio State, IUPUI took a 37-24 deficit into the break. The Jaguars faltered further from there on a 46-13 run in an 83-37 blowout loss. Bakari LaStrap was the top team scorer on 12 points in 30 minutes of work.

The Jaguars are 2-8 ATS in the last 10 overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six at home. IUPUI is 13-41 ATS in their last 54 at home.

Meanwhile, the Raiders are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games and 4-17 ATS in their last 21 overall. The over is 5-1 in Wright State’s last six road games.

PICK: I’m staying with Wright State. The last time these teams met up back on January 8, Wright State took a 72-58 home win. The Raiders shot 47.3 percent from the field in that one, collecting 36 rebounds and 10 team assists along the way. IUPUI isn’t a strong offensive team this year and they routinely struggle to get past 60 points. This rematch may not be so ugly, but the Raiders should have complete control on a cover.
