Iowa State hit a 12-0 run over their first dozen games this year. The Cyclones had an up-and-down six-week period as the calendar year switched, but they’re 3-0 in their last trio. Those wins have come versus TCU, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

On Wednesday versus West Virginia, the Cyclones were down 31-41 heading into the second half. Iowa State came alive on a 53-40 run from there in an 84-81 comeback victory. Izaiah Brockington led the team with his 35 points and five rebounds.

Over on the Kansas State side, they started out the year on a decent 8-3 run. The Wildcats would eventually fall to 10-10 and they’ve been fighting off .500 since then. Kansas State has lost their last two games to Oklahoma State and Kansas.

Matched up against the Jayhawks on Tuesday, the Wildcats were down by 10 points by halftime. Kansas State fell further behind and ended up with a 102-83 loss. Markquis Nowell was the lead scorer on 20 points with eight assists.

The Wildcats are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five at home and 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine Saturday games. The over is 4-0 in Kansas State’s last four overall.
Meanwhile, the Cyclones are 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and the over is 4-1 in their last five overall. The under is 13-5 in Iowa State’s last 18 after an ATS loss.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Iowa State. The Cyclones started out February on a rough 0-4 stretch against some tricky teams. Iowa State has rebounded nicely since then however, despite a couple of close escapes. As for Kansas State, they’re staying competitive themselves lately. The last time these teams met up, Iowa State posted a 75-69 overtime win on February 12. This one’s bound to be another tight affair, and I like Iowa State to bang out a road cover. Should be a fun game to check out.
