Kansas vs Texas Tech 1/24/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Kansas Jayhawks meet in college basketball action from the Allen Fieldhouse on Monday night.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders will look to build on a 78-65 win over West Virginia in their last game. Bryson Williams leads the Red Raiders in scoring with 12.6 PPG along with 4.7 RPG while Kevin McCullar has 11.6 PPG with team-highs of 5.8 RPG and 3.6 APG to lead the Red Raiders in rebounding and assists this season. Davion Warren has 10.3 PPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Texas Tech so far this season. Kevin Obanor also has 9.9 PPG and 4.9 RPG as well on the year. As a team, Texas Tech is averaging 73.9 PPG on 47% shooting from the field, 32.1% from three and 67.8% from the foul line while allowing 59.1 PPG on 37.8% shooting from the field and 30.9% from three this season.

The Kansas Jayhawks will look to build on their four-game win streak after a 78-75 road win over Kansas State last time out. Ochai Agbaji leads the Jayhawks in scoring with 20.4 PPG along with 4.9 RPG while Christian Braun has 15.3 PPG with 5.8 RPG to lead the Jayhawks on the glass and to make up the other half of the pair of double-digit scorers for Kansas so far this season. David McCormack has 8.8 PPG with a team-high 6.8 RPG to lead the Jayhawks in rebounds per game while Jalen Wilson has 8.9 PPG and 6.5 RPG and Dajuan Harris Jr. has a team-high 3.8 APG to lead Kansas in assists. As a team, Kansas is averaging 80.8 PPG on 49.7% shooting from the field, 36.7% from three and 70.7% from the foul line while allowing 66.7 PPG on 42.2% shooting from the field and 31.4% from three this season.

Texas Tech is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 road games. Kansas is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-0-1 in their last 5 Monday games.

I get why Kansas is favored at home and backing the Jayhawks at Allen Fieldhouse has been profitable for much of the season. However, while it was on the road mostly, the Jayhawks have been involved in some calls as of late and I honestly think that Texas Tech will be up to the task here to give the Jayhawks all they can handle. I think Kansas wins, but Texas Tech covers. Give me the Red Raiders here.
