Eastern Kentucky went 3-3 over their first six games, losing to Western Kentucky, Cincinnati and Texas A&M-Commerce. The Colonels are 5-3 since then with wins over Brescia, Boyce, Radford, UNCG and Queens NC.

Matched up against Queens NC on Saturday, the Colonels took a 41-38 lead into the second half. Eastern Kentucky outscored the opposition 47-45 from there and won 88-83. Devontate Blanton led the team on 22 points with six rebounds.

Over on the Kennesaw State side, they were 5-3 over their first eight games with losses to Florida, Campbell and VCU. The Owls are 4-2 since then, beating Charleston Southern, Georgia College, USC Upstate and Central AR.

In the Central Arkansas game, the Owls managed a 33-31 halftime advantage. Kennesaw State hit 49 more points from there and won it 82-66. Demond Robinson led the way on 21 points, and Chris Youngblood added 14 points.

PICK: I’m going to try Kennesaw State in this one. The Owls are on a pretty nice 3-1 run right now with a lone loss to Indiana. Kennesaw State has scored 79 or more points in two of those four games and should post a nice total here as well if they get off to a good start. As for Eastern Kentucky, they’re on a three-game win streak with 67 or more points scored in each outing. We should have a fun matchup here but ultimately I think Kennesaw State can push out a cover.
