The Fordham Rams and the La Salle Explorers meet Thursday in college basketball action from Tom Gola Arena. Fordham is 7-5 so far this year. The Rams lost to Miami-FL in their last game. As for La Salle, they’re sitting at 5-5 and fell to Bucknell in their most recent outing. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

The Rams hit a 3-3 stretch in their first six games this year, losing to Manhattan, MD Eastern Shore and Delaware along the way. Since then Fordham is on a 4-2 run, losing to St. John’s and Miami-FL during that stretch.

Matched up against Miami-FL back on December 12, the Rams had a two-point lead at halftime. Fordham was outscored 37-29 from there in a 72-66 defeat. Chuba Ohams led the team on 15 points and six rebounds in 29 minutes of work.

Over on the La Salle side, they went 2-4 over their first half-dozen games this year. That run included wins over Albany and Army. The Explorers then beat Holy Cross, FDU and Penn before losing to Bucknell.

In the December 18 game versus Bucknell, the Explorers gave up 43 points in the first half and 39 more from there in an 82-70 loss. Jack Clark was the team’s top score with his 18 points, four rebounds and one assist.

The Explorers are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 Thursday games and 5-11-1 ATS in their last 17 overall. The over is 8-2 in La Salle’s last 10 Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Rams are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and the under is 5-2 in their last seven Thursday games. The over is 5-2 in Fordham’s last seven overall.

PICK: I’m probably going to take a stab on Fordham, but staying away. The Rams played well against Miami-FL in their last game but couldn’t hang on in the second half. Fordham has hit 68 or more points in six of their last seven so they’re scoring pretty consistently these days.

As for La Salle, they’ve hit 70 or more points in each of their last four, so this one could turn into a high-scoring game if both teams are on. Ultimately I like the Rams to power out a cover/win but I could go either way on this one.
